Soup’s On at the Dimond Hill Farm

In our never-ending quest to provide you guys with the freshest, best tasting, most nutritious and all natural food items available, the Dimond Hill Farm has added Pika’s Farm Table soups to our lineup this year. And just to make sure you get the full package with this new product, one of Pika’s chefs will be at the Farm Stand on July 13th from 3 to 6 pm to demonstrate their product and to (and this is my favorite part) give out free samples of the product.

Let me tell you a little bit about Pika’s Farm Table so’s you’ll know just what a real treat this will be. This family run business is located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains in eastern New York State, in a town of 2,400 called Lake Katrine. The town is surrounded by Hudson Valley farms that are the source of the fresh ingredients that are delivered in the morning and turned into delicious, mouthwatering soups by the afternoon.

With roots in Belgium, and having lived and worked in France and Italy, the family recipes trace back to their Belgian grandmothers and are influenced by European traditions. Soups are made with all natural ingredients, with no preservatives, transfats or hydrogenated oils. Instead they use real butter, free range eggs and nitrate free meats. There are also gluten free, vegetarian and vegan varieties available.

I’d really like to be able to describe to you how fresh and savory and truly taste-bud-popping these soups are, but, unfortunately, my talents have more to do with eating than writing. So you’re just going to have to come on up to the farm to sample their soups for yourself. Believe me, you’re in for a treat.

You can learn more about Pika’s Farm Table by going to their website, or, better yet, by showing up on Thursday, July 13th from 3-6 pm to taste the product and talk with one of their chefs. Best to get there early, I’m thinking, before I eat up most of the samples … that is, unless Jane chases me off with a again.

Well, nuff said …
